
Gabby DownGabby has been fencing at TFC for nearly a year and started when she was 11yrs old. Now 12, she trains twice a week and also takes part in wheelchair basketball and athletics.
She is on the Talented Fencer pathway funded by the BDFA.
Gabby fences Foil and Epee, and has participated in training weekend camps at Worcester, and week long camps at both Bath and Stoke Mandeville.
In November 2010 she was asked to do a demonstration at the Sports Aid charity ball in London in front of over 600 guests. In this guest list were some of the UKs top 70 world medallist’s and Olympians . Gabby was interviewed in front of this live audience
More recently Gabby represented her country in Canada, fencing older and more experienced fencers. Despite this she fought a close match with the world number one from China
finally losing 14 points to 15 in the Direct Elimination round.
